HI CAN ANY PLEASE TELL, ME IF MORRIS MINOR FRONT SHOCKS WILL FITM MY 1963 WOLSELEY 1500 HAVE FITED GAS SHOCKS ON FRONT BUT IT STILL BANGS WHEN YOU HIT A BUMP MANY THANKS DAVID I AM NOT IN ANY CLUB AT MOMENT AM TRYING TO GET CAR SORTED THANKS AGINE

Hi David,
I don’t know if Minor shockabsorbers will fit but I doubt if they would be robust enough for the 1500.
Have you checked if the bump stops on the inner wing are still in place and in good condition? The mountings can rust and the bump stops break away which can cause the noise you describe.

The top suspension arm of a Morris Minor is different to that of a 1500 and displaces the centre line of action further back. The Armstrong units may well be the same but need the Wolseley arms to be swapped, which is not an easy job.
In addition to Graham’s suggestions above, how did you mount the telescopic shockers initially? Did you replace the suspension bushes, which are often the source of the knocking.
