Several Register members attended the second Morris Vehicles Association Rally, which was held at Catton Hall in south Derbyshire. The MVA Rally was hosted by the Morris Minor Owners Club who held their 40th Anniversary Rally
over the weekend. Over 700 vehicles attended over the two days. Nine MVA Clubs had adjoining stands alongside the arena, allowing a selection of other Morris-related vehicles to be seen by the large number of classic car enthusiasts attending. Representative vehicles from each club competed for the MVA Award for Best in Show. A 1953 MG TD from the Octagon Car Club was deemed by two experienced Concours Judges to be the 2016 winner.
There was plenty to see and do all weekend with arena events staged by the MMOC. Entertainment was provided each evening and the weekend was rounded off with an acrobatic flying display of two Pitt Special S 1D bi-planes above the rally field. The Wolseley Register regalia stall was well-supported and hospitality was provided under the gazebo. It was a great inter-club weekend. Thanks to all who brought their Wolseleys or other cars to the Show.
In future, the MVA Rally will be held on alternate years – 2018 date and
venue to be announced.
