Wolseley 15/50 Automobilia

14/03/2026 by Admin 2

At the end of last year I sold my 15/50. (reluctantly after 10 years ownership) I am now in possession of some spares and booklets for the 15/50 which I would like to pass on to Wolseley Register members. While I gather the spares I send you details of the booklets I have. Can you advertise these for me in the next issue of Wolseley World?
> The Wolseley 15/50 sales Brochure correct for the year 1956.
> Wolseley 4/44 & 15/50 workshop manual.
> Wolseley Service Parts List.
> Wolseley 15/50 Operation Manual.
> Wolseley Cars by DVW Frances covering the mark from 1936 to 1957 when published. (includes 4/44 & 15/50 models)

If anyone is interested in these booklets I will guess price on application.

Car for Sale: 1950 Wolseley 4/50

14/03/2026 by Admin 2

Maroon 4 door car. I have owned it since 2015, and I believe I am the 5th owner. It has never done many miles, currently reads 44274. (I think we can add another 30,000 to this, but there’s no fixed record available).  When I bought the car, it had been restored bodily, and I have since then done the engine and cooling system.

Price: £10,000.

Car for Sale: 1964 Wolseley Hornet

06/03/2026 by Admin 2

It has been owned by me since 30/06/1987 during this period it has been completely rebuilt with all new mechanical components except for the engine which is fine, the interior is as original and is in great condition, the colour is a Biege body and a blue roof, it’s done 60,635 miles from new. It’s not run on road since refurbishment is dry garaged and in lovely condition I would like it to go to someone who will cherish it. I am asking £4500.

Car for Sale: 1947 Wolseley 8 **NOW SOLD**

28/02/2026 by Admin 2

Charming little car with few previous owners, the last one 50+ years. Very good mechanically and is an easy drive having syncro
on all gears (apart from 1st) and a light clutch and steering. Interior is all original apart from carpets. Repainted reputedly 25 years ago and still presentable but obviously not perfect. The wheels look as though they have been powder coated and are shod with newish Excelsior tyres.
New petrol pump, battery and professionally re-built original voltage regulator. Original number but not transferable (good!).

£4250 offers

Description:
1927 WOLSELEY 16/45 E6 ‘SILENT SIX’ PRAM-HOOD OPEN TOURER WITH DICKEY SEAT
Registration: UE 4656
Estimate £8000-10000

The 1927 Wolseley 16/45 introduced as the brands first six-cylinder car with an overhead camshaft but the final model of the original company, before being handed over to William Morris, had a purported maximum speed of 60mph. It had a 2,025cm3 engine and was recognised for its smooth, flexible and quiet running, rather than high speed performance hence the affectionate name ‘the silent six’.

This example is believed to be one of just three open tourers- and only twenty one 16/45s known to have survived. Starting and driving well, the magneto has been refurbished, both seat scrubs have been recovered and the carpet made to fit. The fuel tank has been removed and rinsed and the Autovac body was renewed.

The car benefits from a decent non-professional repaint and presents in splendid condition considering her 99 years of age. The crash gear box works well and the engine is quite simply a work of art. The dickey seat is revealed by opening the rear panel and there is a hinged windscreen with access via carriage type rear steps.

The car is finessed further by the addition of an ‘Old Bill’ Bruce Bairnsfather radiator mascot. A very rare example, present presented in very good condition throughout and well estimated at just £8000-£10,000. This vehicle is located near Repton, Derbyshire DE65 from where it will need to be collected. Motor-scan report and videos available on request.
