This may well be the most original Wolseley Six remaining. It has covered 20,000 miles from new and is unrestored. The Damask Red paint is that with which the car left the factory. In superb order throughout and winner of a concours award at the Wolseley Register National Rally in 2016.
The engine, a straight six ohc of 2200cc, is turbine-smooth. Wolseley used a foam-backed nylon upholstery for the wearing surfaces of the Six’s seats which has not lasted well however little the cars have been used. I had this replaced with high-grade leather, carefully colour-matched to the rest of the interior. This ‘upgrade’ apart, the interior is totally original. Carpets are unmarked and the wood veneers are in excellent order.
Known history from new. The car was laid-up from 1991 to 2016 but has been carefully recommissioned and has covered 3000 miles in the last two years, so that all issues resulting from the lay-up have been addressed.
If you want a Wolseley Six, I don’t think you will find better. If you were thinking of an 18/85, come and be charmed by a Six which is much more refined and has the engine this bodyshell was designed for.
