Registered in 31/05/1935 and known to both the DVLA and the Register’s LoRV, the Wasp is being sold on behalf of the Wolseley Register. Previously owned in Scotland, the car has had a full ‘body off’ restoration, but has recently been stored outside, although covered over.
No detailed investigation of its current condition has been undertaken and so it is assumed the car will require recommissioning and some degree of restoration. However, from what has been seen, the body is sound, with some localised areas of rust, particularly under the boot lid. The paint scheme is not original and requires some rework, whilst most of the chrome work is reasonable, with an excellent grill and front bumper.
The door lock on the front near/side door is seized and so the door does not shut. The interior is complete, but the seat leathers have a few tears and need feeding, and the roof lining needs replacing. The carpets are not original, and the steering wheel needs recovering. The woodwork is sound, but could ideally do with refinishing.
The car mechanics are in unknown condition, the engine has been heard running, but it was a little rough. The tyres look excellent although their age is unknown. There are some original tools in the boot. More photographs are available on request, and there are many extra spares available by separate negotiation.
Location: Nr Falkirk, Scotland.
