Car For Sale: Wolseley 10HP 1924

I bought this 1924 Wolseley open four seat tourer 10hp car around eight years ago and have had some work done since then. It was my intention to complete it in my retirement, but I have been diagnosed with a heart complaint which is restricting my activities, so I have reluctantly decided to sell it. I hope that somebody else will be interested and will want to complete the restoration.

I paid £5,000.00 for the car when I bought it and I have spent some money on it since then, I am open to offers, but I would like to realise somewhere near to getting my money back if possible. I can arrange nationwide delivery of the car

Car For Sale: Wolseley 16/60**NOW SOLD**

A 1963 16/60 in very good condition, The paint and chrome is in very good condition, along with the underside being solid. The car has had an older restoration from its second owner who had it from his grandfather. So the car comes with history going right back to 1964 when he brought it at nine months old.

I have just had rear break cylinders and shoes replaced, along with both screen rubbers and rear springs. So the car is leak free and sitting very nicely.

Car For Sale: Wolseley 15/50**NOW SOLD**

Because of the lack of protection applied to these cars during manufacture in the fifties, the underside of the car required comprehensive rectification, all service items that required replacement or refurbishment were attended to and the car’s original Canterbury registration obtained to replace the Irish “age-related” plate. With a new MOT certificate, the car was used on the Wolseley Register’s Irish Tour in 2016 and appeared on the Club’s stand at the NEC Classic Motor Show in the same year. Since then the car has had regular enjoyable use and will benefit from ongoing light cosmetic attention – it is a delight to drive and is truly able to keep up with modern traffic but in a sedate way! The car, which has a current MOT valid till May 2019, is reluctantly to be sold to make way for another much-desired purchase. Let this lovely Wolseley 15/50 “put a little light in your life”!

Car For Sale: Wolseley 1500 Mk 2 **NOW SOLD**

As it is not being used very much these days, I have reluctantly decided to put my 1960 Wolseley 1500 Mk II up for sale. It has a recorded mileage of 69,753 and is mostly in original condition, both inside and out. It’s still fitted with the original carpets and a brand new spare set will also be included in the sale. It has recently had new tyres, new number plates and a new battery fitted. A fully-tested Radiomobile “period” radio, ready to be fitted, is also included.

The paintwork at the back of the car is slightly scratched where a cyclist ran into it recently. There is also slight blistering where rust is coming through on the offside wing.

The first owner of this car kept it for over 30 years and since then it has had only a handful of owners. I have most of the vehicle history from new, including the original bill of sale.

Running well and reliably. Not a perfect example, but capable of regular use whilst being improved (as I have sought to do). Spares included in purchase price. Now needs a good new home.

Car for Sale: Wolseley 24/30**NOW SOLD**

I have a dismantled 1913 24/30 6 cyl. Wolseley chassis No 20294, engine 215A/1134, which I have started to get ready for rebuilding but am now unable to complete due to ill health. It is therefore now for sale for £15,000 including some new parts, many spare unused parts, 5 re-built straight sided rimmed wheels and 4 new tyres.

Car for Sale: Wolseley Wasp **NOW SOLD**

SOLD: Registered in 31/05/1935 and known to both the DVLA and the Register’s LoRV, the Wasp is being sold on behalf of the Wolseley Register.  Previously owned in Scotland, the car has had a full ‘body off’ restoration, but has recently been stored outside, although covered over.

No detailed investigation of its current condition has been undertaken and so it is assumed the car will require recommissioning and some degree of restoration. However, from what has been seen, the body is sound, with some localised areas of rust, particularly under the boot lid. The paint scheme is not original and requires some rework, whilst most of the chrome work is reasonable, with an excellent grill and front bumper.

The door lock on the front near/side door is seized and so the door does not shut. The interior is complete, but the seat leathers have a few tears and need feeding, and the roof lining needs replacing. The carpets are not original, and the steering wheel needs recovering. The woodwork is sound, but could ideally do with refinishing.

The car mechanics are in unknown condition, the engine has been heard running, but it was a little rough. The tyres look excellent although their age is unknown. There are some original tools in the boot. More photographs are available on request, and there are many extra spares available by separate negotiation.

IMPORTANT NOTE – PLEASE READ!!  SCAMMERS ARE USING THIS SITE!

It is with regret that we have to make all users of these Classifieds aware that scammers operate on this page, as they do on all websites with open adverts. They both post bogus ‘For Sale’ adverts and reply to ‘Wanted’ and ‘For Sale’ adverts.

The ‘For Sale’ adverts posted on the website are usually for complete cars. When considering buying a car, NEVER make any payment until you are absolutely sure that the sale is genuine and after you have seen the car together with its documentation. (The website team does filter out many of these scams before they are posted, but please remain vigilant as we are unable to guarantee that we catch every one).

Replies to ‘Wanted’ adverts are usually via e-mails, but mobile phones are also used, (as both of these are virtually untraceable). You therefore need to make every effort to ensure that the seller actually has the item you want. Request pictures of the item, ask detailed questions about the item, try to catch the seller out! (Ask the webmaster if you would like some ideas on how to do this….).

Replies to ‘For Sale’ adverts (for parts or complete cars) are usually via emails and are generic, ie. they often do not specifically state your name or the item they are supposedly interested in. The wording is generic so that it can be used to reply to multiple advertisers at the same time. If you do reply to these scams, you will find that the respondent attempts to stress that they really want to pay, and that he needs various personal details in order to ensure safe payment. BEWARE – this scam is quite likely to be an attempt at Identity Theft!

We have also seen evidence of potential money laundering scams. This is where a buyer (often pretending to be from abroad), agrees to buy an item and will arrange their own carrier. A hugely increased amount is then sent, stating this this will cover the carrier’s expenses, and that he will collect the difference from you when he collects the items for shipment. PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT THE PAYMENT, AND REFER THE MATTER TO THE POLICE!

If you receive a suspect email, please refer this to the Wolseley Register Webmaster, who will try to help confirm whether it is a scam.
