Cars for sale: Wolseley Hornet Mk2 – Free – SOLD!

07/08/2026 by Webmaster

I am reluctantly giving up the restoration of my Wolseley Hornet Mk 2.
Advancing age and decreasing mobility are the main culprits! Most of the
serious work, such as replacing the subframes, floor panels, etc. has
been done. A new wiring loom from Autosparks is in position but still
needs to be connected. The whole project, complete with a few spares, is
free to any member of the Wolseley Register or any other genuine party
willing to complete the restoration. It will need to be
collected from the Scottish Borders.

Cars for sale: 1968 Wolseley 16/60 – £3,250

05/08/2026 by Webmaster

I purchased this 16/60 only a few months ago. It is mechanically very good, starts, drives and stops beautifully, and the interior is gorgeous. Absolutely everything works as it should, including Kenlowe fan and bluetooth stereo – even the clock! It has 50,900 miles showing, and receipts for a certain amount of work in the last 10 years, including uprated ignition system and stainless steel exhaust, as well as the leather trim, which smells even better than it looks. It has been MOT’d continuously, from the start of the computerised records until July ’25 with only a small number of miles recorded each year. In short, I absolutely love it.

BUT…  I bought it (from a dealer, of sorts) as in good mechanical AND structural condition. After assessment from my local Classic specialist (whom I asked to advise on any work I should do to get it ready for a future MOT)  I now believe the structure to be much poorer than advertised – and much worse than I was led to believe by all the MOT passes. As I don’t have the money, the skills or the facilities to save it, I am, with a very heavy heart, offering it for sale only through the Wolseley Register, in the hope of finding someone who can take it on or use the many good parts to improve their own 16/60.

I am, needless to say, making a considerable loss on the deal, but as my only other option is to run it into the ground and have this beautiful car’s death, to some extent, on my conscience, I feel that I have no other choice. I live in North Devon, I’m happy to answer questions if I can, send more detailed photos on request, and to welcome any inspections or test drives.
The asking price is £3250, which I hope fairly reflects the good and the bad. I will, in all likelihood, then save up for another Wolseley (there were 1500s in the family, but I think my heart beings to the 16/60!).
Photos taken 03/08/26, so please excuse the slight dustiness as we currently have a hosepipe ban.

Car for sale: 1956 Wolseley 15/50 – £3,950.00 OVNO

20/07/2026 by Webmaster

This sale is for my 1956 Wolseley 15/50, in black with maroon leather interior.
The car is in regular use, and has been entered for many local shows. It starts and runs well, and now the braking system is due for a service.
The bodywork is in fair condition, with some cosmetic attention needed to bring it up to ‘show condition’. The interior is generally good, but shows some wear commensurate with a 70-year-old car.
There is a history file, including the original bill of sale from Camden Motors in London in December 1956. Some spares and several copies of ‘Wolseley World’ are also available with the sale.
This sale is due to needing space in my garage for the next classic car.
No guarantees or returns can be offered with this car, and the purchaser may prefer to trailer the car home if coming a considerable distance.
I have had many enjoyable times with this Wolseley, but it’s time for a new owner to spend some time with it and enjoy taking it to the next level
Price: £3,950.00 or very nearest offer.

Location: Carnforth, Lancs.

Car for sale: 1964 Wolseley 1500 Mk3. £6,950

14/07/2026 by Webmaster

1964 Wolseley 1500 Mk3. Reliable, useable classic car. I have owned it for 6 years, Acquired December 2020 from Mathewson’s (“Bangers and Cash”) – video available. Starts on the button and lovely to drive. Restored by Roy Heywood of Leyland in the 1990s, and kept under cover since then. Only used in summer. Excellent bodywork & all mechanicals. Freshly serviced, new tyres, new brakes and servo fitted, electronic ignition etc etc. Front seat belts. Very sound underneath. All original inside, looks good with appropriate patina, great 1960’s smell! Engine has been refurbished, has good oil pressure, converted for unleaded fuel. Faultlessly ran for 700 miles trip for long weekend in South Wales. 96,800 miles, believed genuine. Looks great in two tone with chrome embellishment to wheels and headlamp covers. £6,950.

Car for sale: 1938 Wolseley 14/56 Redfern Tourer. £19,000

13/07/2026 by Webmaster

1938 Wolseley 14/56 Redfern Tourer. A well known car in the Wolseley world and comes with many Wolseley Rally awards. Subject to a full nut and bolt restoration in the 1990’s (full photographic evidence comes with the car).

I purchased the car last year and have had considerable work carried out on her over the winter and have been enjoying rallies and road runs, including France, this season. However, I’ve come to the realisation I cannot manage all my cars so she needs to find a new home now she’s in top condition once again. She comes with numerous spare parts inc gear box, clutch, exhaust, diff, clocks and more (none of which are guaranteed as I’ve no idea if they all work). £19,000.

Car for sale:1936 Wolseley 12/48 fixed head coupe. OIR £10,000

13/07/2026 by Webmaster

This lovely Wolseley 12/48 fixed head coach built coupe belonged to my late father. Registered in 1936, it is believed to be one of 98 built, and is now a rare and desirable model. Over the last 18 months, the following work has been carried out by a specialist:-
Full service, New Petrol Pump, New Battery, Fuel Replaced, Brake Service, Oil Changed and Greased as appropriate.
The car runs, but has been garaged for the last 6 months and may need further re-commissioning. I’d really like this car to go to an enthusiast who will use it and maintain it to the standard to which it is accustomed and am looking for offers in the region of £10,000.
