Car For Sale: Wolseley 1300

It is with regret that I have to sell my 1972 Wolseley 1300 .It has less than 32000 miles on the clock, paperwork to prove this.It is in very good condition all welding is done.Since buying the car I have had the underside waxed,it has been professionally serviced, new plugs, points, battery, five new tyres, petrol tank cleaned, new petrol pump, new windscreen wipers and new coolant hoses where required

A very good car that I am unfortunately unable to drive due to unforeseen circumstances. Short MOT but a new one can be supplied.Well worth having a viewing.

Car for Sale: Wolseley Series III 12/48

For Sale: 1947 Wolseley 12/48 with only 21000 on the clock. This I believe to be genuine as this vehicle was owned by a Reverend gentleman from Hampshire.

Bought new, and proof with the vehicle of the garage that supplied it. The V5 I have shows 6 previous owners and I can verify this. It changed hands in 1970 and was registered in Chesterfield for 3 years, again registered in Chesterfield to another keeper in 1973. There is some mention of it owned again in Swindon. In April 2003 it was registered to a Mrs Cook and was put on the Wolseley Register, but until 2011 it was hardly used, as the mileage only went up a few miles per year. I do have some MOTs but they were probably obtained so as it could be driven around the farm where it was kept in a barn. Everything about the car points to it being genuine mileage.

The engine is very quiet, with no timing chain or tappet noise. It starts first touch of the button, every time. The engine and chassis numbers all match. The wiring is ALL original and everything works, the lights, the wipers, the fuel gauge, the ammeter, even the clock when it feels like it. Very good oil pressure and NO smoke. The door handles are all level ( no droop ) all the locks use the same key, and it comes with 5 new tyres. Slight play in the o/s front king pin. In my ownership I have overhauled all the brakes and the front have new linings. The fuel tank has been off and cleaned, a new boot floor has been put in and the car drives well.

However it still needs restoration, all the seats and headlining need work. The wood in the door bottoms need replacing. The dash is good. and at some time flashing indicators were fitted and I have got them going again  much to my disgust). The only thing stopping it from going on the road is that at the moment it has NO n/s running board, just the out riggers, the o/s has been replaced. At sometime it was resprayed and the paint has blistered so requires taking back to metal and repairing.

Too much for me as I plan on moving next year.  I bought the vehicle 1 year ago from Yorkshire. So there you have it a low mileage car with V5 and some history for restoration or spares.

For Sale   £3250  firm. If interested please phone or Email.

Car For Sale: Wolseley 4/50

The quite delightful example we offer here has a lovely story to tell. The Wolseley was built between th 27th of February and the 6th of March 1951 and dispatched to T.H.Nice and Co of Cambridge on the 7th of March the same year. The car was then registered to a Mr. Lunniss of Newmarket on the 9th of March 1951. The car then had just 3 owners until 1998. The present mileage reading is 69,000 miles, it would be nice to think that reading was correct but apart from MOTs that go back to 2003 we have no other evidence to back this up, therefore it would be wise to assume that it is not the mileage covered by the car from new but let your eyes be the judge. The car drives extremely well and starts on the button. I would say the car has been restored in past but certainly the car presents very well with good paintwork and chrome. The comes with an extensive history file which includes a British Motor Heritage Certificate, original buff log book, older MOTs, tax discs and what looks like it’s original drivers hand book.

We can only find one other example on the market nationwide making it a very rare example indeed. An absolute must for a Wolseley collector.

Car For Sale: Wolseley Ten

For Sale Wolseley 10 1939. Has been in the family since the war and
now my Father is 90 he is keen to find it a home where it can be
brought back to its original condition. The car was registered new in
1939 but not sold until 1946 when there was a shortage of cars.
Receipt shows the Retail price was £370 plus £103.10 tax but because
of the lack of cars the price was increased to £420 plus £117.8.4
tax.Have lots of photos and paperwork we can share. Car has been
garaged for last 10 years plus where my Father has tinkered with it
but nothing more. It starts and drives but isn’t road legal. It had a
spray of paint to protect it but original colour was much darker.
Needs new running boards and new leather etc on the inside. A great
project for an enthusiast. We also have spares including gearbox,
engine head and cover, aluminium sump cover, brakes, lights etc.which
can be included or sold separately.
Price – open to offers, would be criminal to sell number plate but
had it valued at £1500 so really would like to have offers for the
car in excess of £1000.

Car For Sale: Wolseley 16/60**NOW SOLD**

Only 4 owners in 55 years, including me. Ive done about 200 miles only in 16 years of ownership. 1,600 cc. Purchased from Wolseley Register member in 2003,based in Brighton. Two tone blue/cream, leather seats and walnut dash. Very sound. Loads of paperwork and original brochures. Boot load of spares. Was resprayed about 20 years ago, otherwise all original. Exact mileage unknown, as speedo was replaced, but I have that old speedo. Garaged in NW London close to J1 of M1. I bought it because my granddad had the exact same car – a pure nostalgia purchase. I just like to look at it and breath in the interior from my 1960s childhood.

Car for Sale: Wolseley 14/60

In full working order, bought as a long term restoration project by my late father, he had completed a partial respray, replaced all 4 tyres, however it will need further work to bring up to a concourse condition. It has had a reconditioned Wolseley 18 rear diff to improve the driving experience and economy. The car is believed to be a former Police vehicle as it has a Police Bell and Dashboard Reading Light. The car comes with a large number of spare parts including front and rear axles, fuel tank, wheel hubs and many other smaller items.  A fitted car cover is included.

Price £10,000.

IMPORTANT NOTE – PLEASE READ!!  SCAMMERS ARE USING THIS SITE!

It is with regret that we have to make all users of these Classifieds aware that scammers operate on this page, as they do on all websites with open adverts. They both post bogus ‘For Sale’ adverts and reply to ‘Wanted’ and ‘For Sale’ adverts.

The ‘For Sale’ adverts posted on the website are usually for complete cars. When considering buying a car, NEVER make any payment until you are absolutely sure that the sale is genuine and after you have seen the car together with its documentation. (The website team does filter out many of these scams before they are posted, but please remain vigilant as we are unable to guarantee that we catch every one).

Replies to ‘Wanted’ adverts are usually via e-mails, but mobile phones are also used, (as both of these are virtually untraceable). You therefore need to make every effort to ensure that the seller actually has the item you want. Request pictures of the item, ask detailed questions about the item, try to catch the seller out! (Ask the webmaster if you would like some ideas on how to do this….).

Replies to ‘For Sale’ adverts (for parts or complete cars) are usually via emails and are generic, ie. they often do not specifically state your name or the item they are supposedly interested in. The wording is generic so that it can be used to reply to multiple advertisers at the same time. If you do reply to these scams, you will find that the respondent attempts to stress that they really want to pay, and that he needs various personal details in order to ensure safe payment. BEWARE – this scam is quite likely to be an attempt at Identity Theft!

We have also seen evidence of potential money laundering scams. This is where a buyer (often pretending to be from abroad), agrees to buy an item and will arrange their own carrier. A hugely increased amount is then sent, stating this this will cover the carrier’s expenses, and that he will collect the difference from you when he collects the items for shipment. PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT THE PAYMENT, AND REFER THE MATTER TO THE POLICE!

If you receive a suspect email, please refer this to the Wolseley Register Webmaster, who will try to help confirm whether it is a scam.
