Car for Sale: Wolseley 24/30

I have a dismantled 1913 24/30 6 cyl. Wolseley chassis No 20294, engine 215A/1134, which I have started to get ready for rebuilding but am now unable to complete due to ill health. It is therefore now for sale for £15,000 including some new parts, many spare unused parts, 5 re-built straight sided rimmed wheels and 4 new tyres.

Please study the pictures and if interested, please ring Graham in the first instance. It will make a lovely car similar to Richard’s car below.

Car for Sale: Wolseley Wasp

Registered in 31/05/1935 and known to both the DVLA and the Register’s LoRV, the Wasp is being sold on behalf of the Wolseley Register.  Previously owned in Scotland, the car has had a full ‘body off’ restoration, but has recently been stored outside, although covered over.

No detailed investigation of its current condition has been undertaken and so it is assumed the car will require recommissioning and some degree of restoration. However, from what has been seen, the body is sound, with some localised areas of rust, particularly under the boot lid. The paint scheme is not original and requires some rework, whilst most of the chrome work is reasonable, with an excellent grill and front bumper.

The door lock on the front near/side door is seized and so the door does not shut. The interior is complete, but the seat leathers have a few tears and need feeding, and the roof lining needs replacing. The carpets are not original, and the steering wheel needs recovering. The woodwork is sound, but could ideally do with refinishing.

The car mechanics are in unknown condition, the engine has been heard running, but it was a little rough. The tyres look excellent although their age is unknown. There are some original tools in the boot. More photographs are available on request, and there are many extra spares available by separate negotiation.

Location: Nr Falkirk, Scotland.
Price: £4000ono.

Car for Sale: Wolseley Six**NOW SOLD**

This may well be the most original Wolseley Six remaining.  It has covered 20,000 miles from new and is unrestored.  The Damask Red paint is that with which the car left the factory.  In superb order throughout and winner of a concours award at the Wolseley Register National Rally in 2016.

The engine, a straight six ohc of 2200cc, is turbine-smooth.  Wolseley used a foam-backed nylon upholstery for the wearing surfaces of the Six’s seats which has not lasted well however little the cars have been used.  I had this replaced with high-grade leather, carefully colour-matched to the rest of the interior.  This ‘upgrade’ apart, the interior is totally original.  Carpets are unmarked and the wood veneers are in excellent order.

Known history from new.  The car was laid-up from 1991 to 2016 but has been carefully recommissioned and has covered 3000 miles in the last two years, so that all issues resulting from the lay-up have been addressed.

If you want a Wolseley Six, I don’t think you will find better.  If you were thinking of an 18/85, come and be charmed by a Six which is much more refined and has the engine this bodyshell was designed for.

Car for Sale: Wolseley Series III 14/60

For Sale: Wolseley 14/60 series 3. Year 1946. Reg HAL 649. Has been owned by the family since 1965 and used throughout the summer months for days out and car rallies.

The car is in quite good condition generally and suitable to exhibit at vintage car shows in its present condition. There are small areas of the paint work around the edges of the mud guards and rear number plate/spare wheel compartment that could be improved making the car look really good. The engine was overhauled 20 years ago, new pistons/liners, valves/guides and bearings throughout and is quite powerful and dose not burn oil and has good oil pressure when hot.

There is one small problem, a crack in the side of the cylinder block, which was covered by a copper patch many years ago, this weeps a little water but dose not affect the operation or performance of the engine, this should have been metal stitched years ago. This could be carried out with the engine in position as it is easy to gain access by removing the exhaust manifold and carburettor’s. The car will be sold with a years MOT test cert.

A large quantity of spare parts re included in the sale of the car as follows:
1 x cylinder block
2 x cylinder heads
2 x crankshafts
1 x starter motor
1 x dynamo
1 x gearbox
1 x voltage regulator
1 x distributor / cap
1 x water pump
1 x rocker shaft / rocker levers
1 x camshaft / drive sprocket
6 x conrods / pistons
1 x oil pump
1 x sump / rocker box cover
1 x timing chain cover
2 x traffic caters
1 x oil pressure gauge
1 x exhaust manifold
2 x carburettors / linkages
1 x box light bulbs / fuses

Car For Sale: Wolseley 1500 Mk3 **NOW SOLD**

Sold: A 1963 Wolseley 1500 Mk III. This car was in regular use until around one year ago, it still runs and drives in and out of the garage. The bodywork (dark red) is solid but shows a little corrosion around the edges, and the interior is tidy and original.

Location: North Manchester

Car for Sale: Wolseley 6/99 **NOW SOLD**

SOLD: A 1960 Wolseley 6/99, manual with overdrive. This car spent its early years in Nigeria and was imported into the UK in 1967/8, and therefore carries an ‘F’ suffix registration. Appears to be unusually sound structurally and was running a year or two ago. The paintwork (pale blue/grey) is poor and some chrome trim is corroded. The interior is completely original but somewhat tired, however the Register has available (to members), spare seats, door cards and carpet pieces in good condition and in the correct colour for this car.
