Hi Jez
I wonder if John Davis of Vintage and Collectors Car Spares could help you? I can’t think of anyone else….

I cant recall seeing new ones for many years. I probably have some good second hand ones if it helps.

Well, I can have a look for some.
As no-one seemed to need any at the time, I added most to my scrap when preparing to move house. There are some somewhere I am certain.

I have found a small number of decent brass wheel nuts.
How many do you require?
There is no charge, just refund the postage etc.

Hi Graham, just wondering did you get the time to look up those wheel nuts for my nine, I took off the wheels yesterday to work on the brakes and I notice that about six of them are not standard so I would appreciate as many as possible,

I have no idea what has happened to Graham, and unfortunately I am not sure where to try for your Nine wheel nuts myself. However, you could try John Davis of Vintage and Collectors Car Spares, and also try our Technical Adviser, David Palmer, who might know where you can get some from. His contact details are on teh website and in Wolseley World.
Other than that, you could post a Wanted ad on the website.

Hi Peter.
I have some spare wheel nuts off my Morrie 8. If they are the same you can have some. Can anyone tell us if they are and if so i will post them to you. It may take a wee while to get to you because i live in New Zealand. You have to realise these are very old and will need cleaning up.

Great thought! I too have a Morris 8, although I have no spare wheel nuts for it. However, if Peter would like to send me one of his, I could check them against mine on my car. If they are the same, then I am sure Peter will be happy to take up your kind offer!
Just one thought though – my Eight is a Series 1, what is yours? I can’t imagine that Morris would have changed their nuts between the Series 1 and the Series E would they?

Hi Bob.
Happy new year. I sold my Morris some years ago but it was a pre series and i used some of these nuts at the time on it. I bought this bucket for $5 at the time at a swap meet and have been just give them to my friends over the years. It was half full at the time. I have a few left now. I have just checked and they wont fit my 1936 14/56 they are smaller diameter. If they fit i can just send them they wont cost to much

If Peter would like to send me one nut, I will check it against my Series 1 and let you know.
I believe the Series II and III Wolseley models all used the same 5 studs and brass nuts which are way bigger than my Morris ones. The Morris are also steel of course.

Thank you very much for your reply gentleman I am using steel wheel studs at the moment to replace the ones that I am missing but, they don’t seem to seat properly on the wheel,
The original studs as you probably know on my nine are solid brass but I need about eight.
Thank you,

Now you have confused me… I did not realise that the Nine nuts were brass. In that case, Morris Eight nuts won’t help as they are all steel. I therefor wonder if the Nine nuts are the same as the brass nuts of all the Series cars? If so, the club can help with those.
But you will need to send me a sample Nine nut so that I can check them out.

I can measure the nuts on my 25 series iii which are definitely brass, if that helps?
It would be very easy to get a small batch quantity made, if several people grouped together…..
