Hi my good mate wants to be taken to her wedding in her dad’s old car. Her dad had it till they had to sell it, due to money issues. It’s her one wish for her wedding day. It’s a wolseley 15/60. If anyone has one that they could lend us for the day or if they are free and want to come down and drive it for an hour! There will be wine and bubbles as a thank you!

If anyone can help you would be be making her dream come to and making the wedding so special for the whole family.

Lauren

I doubt that any owner would be willing to lend a car to anyone they do not know. And before anyone could even consider whether they might be able to help you, they would need to know the date, time and location of the wedding.

Hi Bob

I understand about the lend a car, it was a call out and a plead for help.

The location of the wedding and day is
29.09.19 arora hotel Gatwick to slaugham place rh17 6al

If anyone is available to get the beautiful bride and her father to the wedding, it would mean so much to the family.

All the best
Lauren

Hi Lauren.
I’m not sure if you are aware how rare the 15/60 is now. There are only 33 cars known to this register on the British mainland and therefore, as a 15/60 owner, I can only reiterate Bob’s comment that I would never ever lend my car to anyone. They are appreciating in value and yet only have 1960’s security making them a real worry that they don’t “disappear” overnight. To add to the problems there is also the small matter of the dreaded M25 and the Dartford Crossing which are places a lot of classic car owners fear to tread (or drive) perhaps leading owners to trailer their cars to the venue. I understand your desire to make your friend’s wedding really special but I think you’ll find it a real problem to have a 15/60 for the day given the problems I have outlined unless the owner lives very locally.
Best of luck.
Chris.

Hi Chris

Thanks so much for the reply – I’ll be honest I don’t drive I work in London so I am a public transport girl, so I know little about cars.
I wrote lend but I was more like I said saying that and meaning lend you as the owner time.
I did no know there was only 33 that’s crazy. If say we covered the cost of petral and trailer ? And threw in a bottle of wine would anyone be interested in that?

If there is away to make it happen and make sure your car or any other is secure whilst traveling, I would do my very best to make sure that happens.

All the best
Lauren

Hi Lauren.
You would obviously have more luck if a local member was available. Perhaps you could widen your search to include 16/60’s of which there are more around and will probably fool everyone (except your father). If you want to contact me my email is christopher-arnold@sky.com
Best of luck.
Chris.
