Is it possible to find chassis numbers from the registration?
My father owned this car and did an epic 3000 mile drive through France and Spain to Gib and back in the early 50’s. I’m trying to find it, as he’s now 89 and reminiscing about the car. We may have found it in the USA, but I need to find the chassis number.

Unfortunately the Register’s list of recorded vehicles does not include any Hornets with a registration of GO 3355. Do you know the current registration of the USA car?
The British Motor Museum (https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/archive) holds original factory records of many makes of British cars, including Wolseleys, although I think they may have ‘lost’ some of the Wolseley models from the 1930’s. However, it might be worth asking them. If they can help, you apply for a Heritage Certificate for your car in question, which will contain all of the specifications of the car as it left the factory. There is a charge for this service.
You could also try the Hornet Special Club which may be able to help.
