How much longer must I stay in here?
He seems to have forgotten me
I’m fed up at looking at these four walls
I just want to be mobile and free!
I’ve been wrapped up well for the Winter
Away from the ice and snow
But I can feel the change in the weather
It’s time to get started and go!
How I long to be out in the open
Going through villages and towns
Past countryside pubs and houses
Through the Vale and over the Downs
So why isn’t he coming to get me?
Why doesn’t he unlock the door?
I’ve had a good clean and a service
Doesn’t he love me anymore?
Oh!….I’ve just heard some news on the grapevine
It appears we’re not allowed out
All the shows and fetes have been cancelled
There’s a nasty virus about!
So sadly it seems we have to stay home
’cause it’s more than just a cold
We need to help the N.H.S.
So it’s best we do as we’re told
So I’ll stay here in my garage
Looking at the cupboards and shelves
No doubt we will meet again in the future
’till then look after yourselves!

Stay safe Charlie. We here in New Zealand are also in lockdown and have been now for three weeks ( for our age group 70 plus ) and it is hard but it is for our own good. All the very best Winton Cleal 6/90 and 14/56
