Hi I am just about to replace the brake cylinders on my 4/44 and I read that the front cylinders changed on the later models does anyone know when this change took place so I can order the correct ones, my car is a 1955 model thanks stan

Hello Stan.

4/44 front brakes are the all same, it was the later 15/50 ones which changed after the 4/44 went out of production. They are 7/8″ dia. If your Car has integral hubs and drums they will be 7/8″ and made of cast iron.

There’s a chance somebody has modified it in the past to detachable drums, if so the cylinders are 15/16″ dia and are same as Morris 1000, and made of Aluminium.
