Thorsby, Notts.
The Wolseley Register is one of several clubs which form part of the Morris Vehicles Association (MVA) which now gather annually. The 5th MVA Rally was hosted by the Morris Register at their National Rally on a very windy August weekend.
Hundreds of Morris cars were present over the two-day event with the MVA clubs presenting a display of other marques with a Morris connection. The Wolseley company was purchased by William Morris in 1927, thus saving the marque under which cars were produced for another 48 years.
The Landcrab Owners Club International (LOCI) held their 40th Anniversary National Rally at this event. Dual members of the Wolseley Register, LOCI and 6/80 & MO, Oxford & Cowley club were present showing several Wolseleys on the LOCI stand and others displayed under the Wolseley Register flag.
MVA cars took part in the Saturday Road Run organised by the Morris Register around rural Nottinghamshire and on Sunday the Wolseley Register Regalia stall attracted some interest and also offered welcome respite from the wind.
A 1925 Morris Oxford Bullnose Tourer displayed by the Morris Register was deemed to be the “Best in Show” of the MVA Rally entries.
Next year’s MVA Rally will be held over the weekend of 8/9 August, again hosted by the Morris Register at Thorsby. This promises to be a spectacular event as the Morris Register will be celebrating its 60th Anniversary and a good turnout of MVA clubs is anticipated.
