The Wolseley Register stand in Hall 4 was pleased to be neighbouring the Wolseley Hornet Special Club (WHSC) and the Swallow Register who were both exhibiting for the first time at this event. The Wolseley Register and WHSC each had 4 different exhibits which gave a great cross-section from across the Wolseley range. Over 160 clubs exhibited at this year’s Show with the Swallow Register being awarded “Best Stand at the Show”.
The Wolseley Register exhibits were:
1934 WOLSELEY HORNET free wheel – JU 4834
Owned by a Midlands Member for many years over which a full restoration had been undertaken. However, have deteriorated through lack of use in recent years, it is now in need of work on the engine to resolve a head gasket leak. The car had to be transported to the Show but it is hoped to have it back in full working order later this year.
1954 WOLSELEY 4/44 – OXP 438
This exhibit drew admiration for its 2021 repaint in black and is a favourite of the owner who has enjoyed and maintained it for many years. The engine was rebuilt and refitted 2023.
1958 WOLSELEY 15/50 – VUY 285
This Gerald Palmer designed model was presented in striking Champagne Beige. This exhibit was carefully restored over a 17-year period by the current owner who continues to keep it well-maintained. The 15/50 is used regularly and often seen at local and national club events.
1962 WOLSELEY 1500 Mk III – DSL 569
This 1500 model has been a rolling restoration over the 3 years it has been owned by a local Midlands Member. Extensive work undertaken includes:

At the Show, the owner replaced the heater tap. The work continues!
Many Register Members as well as other visitors to the Show were welcomed to the club stand. Technical and Membership queries were answered by the stand personnel and Members were able to take a break
in our hospitality area. All the exhibits attracted much attention. Club merchandise sales were brisk especially with the launch of the latest in the Register’s series of Profile books – Wolseley 4/44 and 15/50: A Profile by Anders Clausager.
Other Wolseleys present included a Register Member’s 2200 “Wedge” and an 1100 which was receiving attention to the rear brakes during the Show.
Thanks to all the exhibitors and visitors to the club stand who all helped to make the weekend a success.
The Wolseley Register will be applying for the 2026 Show which will run from 20 – 22 March.
