Description
LAUNCHED AT THE CLASSIC MOTOR SHOW, N.E.C. 9-11 NOVEMBER 2018 WHERE THE 25 DHC ORIGINALLY OWNED BY LORD NUFFIELD WAS ONE OF THE EXHIBITS ON THE WOLSELEY REGISTER CLUB STAND
The 25 Drop-head Coupé was a fine car in its day, and still is today. Its history is all the more fascinating for its association with Lord Nuffield.
The fifth title in the series of profiles published by the Wolseley Register, this 76-page full-colour book is a comprehensive profile of “the most desirable of all pre-War Wolseleys”.
The book begins with a Foreword by Anders Clausager – a long-standing Wolseley Register member and author of ‘Wolseley: A Very British Car’. Subsequent chapters cover the story of DON 642 which was gifted to Lord Nuffield by his employees and is now owned by the Profile’s author, Clive Button. Driving impressions and observations of owning a 25 DHC accompany details of the model’s production and publicity, finishing with all that is known of the 18 surviving cars. The pages are filled with illustrations from sales brochures, advertisements and modern photographs of the surviving cars.

REVIEW
The Automobile published the following brief review, in their January edition ‘Book Ends’ summary:
‘Continuing its series of model profiles, the Wolseley register has just released Wolseley 25HP Drop-head Coupe: A Profile by Clive Button. Himself the owner of the first-off-the-line, ex-Lord Nuffield 25hp dhc, Button takes an in-depth look at the model, including the history of his own example, production and marketing details for subsequent cars and an attempt to trace the whereabouts of all known survivors.”
