The Footman James Classic Vehicle Restoration Show – 3-4 November 2018

Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset  BA4 6QN

The Wolseley Register stand at this popular winter Restoration Show will be on S7 in the Sedgmoor Hall. The Footman James Classic Vehicle Restoration Show embraces anything and everything restoration. Regardless of progress, budget or level of expertise, visitors to the Show can expect to find whatever they need to complete their current project. Restorers and other classic car enthusiasts can visit trade, auto-jumble and service provider stalls to seek advice and meet the owners of restoration project cars exhibited by clubs including the Wolseley Register.

Three different Wolseleys representing 80 years of production of the marque will be on display:

1927 11/22HP E4:
This four-seater tourer has been restored to roadworthiness after 46 years with its previous owner.  It remains in its original livery of light and dark brown.  The current owner has converted the car to 12 volts and fitted an alternator.  He has just completed some finishing work to the hood and is delighted to have the opportunity to present the car to the public after its long absence.

1936 Series II Wolseley 14/56:
This car has recently returned to the road after a comprehensive12-year restoration.  Work undertaken by the current owner has included making parts such as new running boards and carrying out welding work, as well as rebuilding the clutch.  The interior has been refurbished and the vehicle is now presented in blue and grey livery as opposed to its original black paintwork.

1955 Wolseley 4/44:
Described by the current owner as a rolling conservation project, this car is presented in Connaught Green with a gold-seal engine, grey interior and is in overall good condition.  Work recently undertaken has included replacing brake cylinders, reupholstering the front seats and a whole range of overhaul and titivation items. The most recent task was to replace all the suspension bushes – taking advantage of modern materials, by installing nylon ones. Otherwise, the car is generally original but with the usual repairs (new sills) and some filler has been used.

Visitors and club members will be welcomed to view the exhibits and stand personnel will be on hand to answer technical and membership queries. The full range of Wolseley Register regalia will also be on sale. Contact the Regalia Manager to pre-order any specific items for collection at the Show.
