Our Wolseley Register National Rally 2022 was held over the weekend of 18-22 August, based at the Woodland Grange, Royal Leamington Spa, with the Annual General Meeting being held there on Saturday and the rally itself held on Sunday at Hatton Country World.
The Woodland Grange offered superb accommodation and did everything asked of it, with excellent staff throughout. The lovely grounds and a large car park allowed plenty of room for all of our Wolseleys to park without problems.
For those arriving on Thursday, Friday was a free day where members visited a number of local attractions, including the historic town of Warwick, where some climbed the tower of St Mary’s Church to enjoy the fantastic views over the town.
On Saturday, the Register was invited to join a Family Fun Day at the Warwick Wolseley UK head office, (Wolseley is now the international plumbing company, which shares the same roots and early history as the Wolseley car company), and the Members displayed their Wolseleys for company staff and families to enjoy. Wolseley UK were extremely generous in return, laying on a fantastic free buffet lunch which included a beautiful Wolseley cake, and handing all members a superb quality gift bag.
Late afternoon saw members back at Woodland Grange, attending the Register’s Annual General meeting, where all committee members and other officers were voted back in for another year. This was followed by the National Rally Meal, again at the Woodland Grange and to which 65 participants attended.
Sunday saw the main Wolseley Register National Rally at Hatton Country World, a venue we have visited before, with a superb rally field and now with a larger and improved visitor centre. Over 60 Wolseleys, ranging from models from the early 1930’s, up to a Wedge, the last and final model bearing the Wolseley name, were also joined by several classics from other marques. Cars were displayed in age range groups which enabled members to judge and vote for their favourites. The rally concluded with the usual presentations. Sunday finished with a final buffet meal at Woodland Grange to which all rally participants were invited.
Everyone agreed that the Wolseley Register National Rally 2022 was hugely successful, with a wide range of Wolseley models, superb accommodation and great company. Roll on the 2023 National Rally to be held at Brooklands Museum!
