Drive it Day: Sunday 24 April 2022

**JUST A COUPLE OF ROOMS LEFT!! BOOK NOW TO ENSURE YOU CAN JOIN US!! **

This year, the Wolseley Register is celebrating the FBHVC’s Drive it Day by making a weekend of it at The Fat Lamb Country Inn, Kirby Stephen, Cumbria (CA17 4LL). We have negotiated a special room rate for dinner, bed and breakfast, and you are welcome to stay for as many nights as you wish between the Thursday and Monday (two nights: double/twin £345, single £232.50; three nights: double/twin £495, single £337.50; four nights: double/twin £645, single £442.50). The Fat Lamb is a lovely country inn and is crammed with automobilia as the owner, Paul owns a classic car himself. The food is superb and the staff very friendly and attentive. Paul has documented quite a few drives of various lengths directly from the inn and displayed as tulip maps.

Using the Fat Lamb as a base, you can take circular road routes into the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District or visit the Westmorland Dales. On Drive it Day itself, we will be driving to the Lakeland Motor Museum (www.lakelandmotormuseum.co.uk) where we will have a priority parking position, and a warm welcome is guaranteed. There is something for everyone including Campbell’s Bluebird, early motoring in the Lake District, and a 1920s garage. If you tire of the museum, a steam railway (www.lakesiderailway.co.uk) is just down the road at Haverthwaite, where you can take a tour of the Engine Shed and catch a steam train to Lakeside on the shores of Windermere.

FBHVC’s Drive it Day supports NSPCC Childline as its chosen charity. You can donate by buying a rally plate at www.driveitday.co.uk/shop (£10 for standard or £30 for platinum edition). We hope you can support this worthwhile charity by enjoying your Wolseley on Drive it Day, and we look forward to seeing you in Cumbria in April. If you have any queries, please contact Andrew McAdam (01553 841252) or Colin Briggs (chairman@thewolseleyregister.com).
