Engine

The following list is a small sample of parts currently in stock at the Register's spares store, more parts will be listed in due course. Please either email the Spares Coordinator or phone Andy on 01592 751738 (giving name and membership number), to enquire about any spares required.

The Wolseley Register Spares are sold in good faith, however, please note that all parts are sold as seen, untested and with no warranty.

The items are displayed in approximate ascending model age / model size order. Please click on image to see full size picture.

Series Head Gaskets:
BRAND NEW - JUST REMANUFACTURED!
Copper sandwich gaskets made with modern non asbestos filling. To fit:
Series II & III 14hp - based on original Payen number 1948.
Series II & III 18hp - based on original Payen number 1928.
Series II & III 25hp - based on original Payen number 1918.

Series Manifold Gaskets:
BRAND NEW - JUST REMANUFACTURED! To fit:
Series II & III 14, 16 & 18hp models. Based on Payen number M3495.
Only the later type graphite FGS gaskets now available.
Series II & III 25hp models. Only FGS available.

Other original NOS Payen Gaskets:-

Assorted Piston Rings:
Both NOS & Used (but in good condition). Several makes available. (Note - in all cases, width of ring must fit groove in piston).
Wolseley Eight:   (57mm diameter). All types & widths.
Wolseley 14/56 &14/60: Bottom oil control rings. .040 oversize. Set of 6.
Wolseley 14/56 & 14/60:   (63mm diameter). All types & widths. (Will fit these models when engine bored out to 0.60 o/s).
Wolseley Wasp, New Fourteen, 14/56, 14/60:   (61.5mm diameter). Compression rings. All rings are 3/32 x 088 size.
Wolseley Nine:   (60mm diameter). All rngs are All 5/32 x 109 size.

Piston Sets:
All NOS, good condition, complete sets with rings (apart from Eight), and in original boxes.
New Fourteen / Hornet Special 14hp: Wellworthy. 060 oversized.
Eight: Set of 4 pistons, but with incomplete number of rings. 020 oversized.
New Ten: Covmo, Hepolite, Wellworthy. Mainly 0.40 & 0.60 oversized.
14/56 / 14/60: Wellworthy 030 oversized & Specialloid 060 oversize.
1500: Mowog. STD size.

32 Hornet camshaft:
Used. Poor condition, worn and rusty.

Series II & III 21 / 25 timing gears:
Used. Look OK.

Series II & III timing chain:
Used. Some links are seized

Series II & III SuperSix 21,25 Pistons / Con rods:
Used. Full set of 6 con rods, 5 with pistons. Pistons seized as are piston rings.

'Series II 14/56, 16/60, 18/80, SuperSix 21, 25 + Series III 14/60 oil breather pipe:
Used. Looks OK

Series II & III Supersix 21, 25, 25DHC Oil pump:
Used. Incomplete. Unknown condition.

Series II & III Supersix 21, 25, 25DHC Engine Valve Springs:
Used. Look OK.

Series II & III Supersix 21, 25, 25DHC Tappet Cover:
Used. OK.

Series II & III Supersix 21, 25, 25DHC Sump:
Used. Good condition.

NOS. To fit Wolseley/Morris (1939-52).

Series III Eight Head Gasket set:
NOS. Good condition,

FGS Manifold gaskets. Marks due to long term storage, but quite useable.

Eight oil filter housing:
Used. Looks OK.

Eight oil filler tube:
Used. OK.

Eight rockerbox cover:
Used. OK. Needs painting

Eight engine front packing plate:
Used. OK.

Series III Ten Valve springs:
NOS and Used sets. Each set contains 8 pairs of springs.

Series III Ten - Set of 4 inlet valves:
NOS. Part no. James 1988

Series III Ten - Set 4 Exhaust Valves:
Used. Look OK. Part no. 1989XB.

Series III Ten Crankshaft Main Bearings:
NOS. Full set.
Used. Full set. Minimal usage.
NOS. Individual front and rear bearings. (Genine Morris, part no. S.A.2244/1. 1 pair per box).
NOS. Centre bearings only

Series III Ten Full set Big End Bearings:
NOS.
Used - only very slight usage.

Series III Ten Full set Camshaft Bearings:
NOS. Excellent condition. Not boxed.

Series III Ten Big End nuts & bolts:
Used. Look good.

Series III Ten Timing Chain:
NOS -boxed.
Also - Used. Looks good.

Series III Ten Con rod:
Used. With big end cap and bearings.

Series III Ten Crankshaft:
Used. Complete with main bearings and starter dog.

Series III Ten Cylinder Head:
Used. Includes valves.

Series III Ten Rocker Shaft Assembly:
Used. Complete & looks good.

Series III Ten Push Rods:
Used. Look OK.

Copper Vacuum Pipe:
Used. Looks OK.

Series III Ten Oil Feed Pipes:
Used. Look OK. Between pump and original filter type.

Series III Ten Oil Pump:
Used. Boxed and looks good.

Series III Ten Dipstick:
Used - for engine no. 22596.

Series III Ten Engine Studs:
Used. Look OK.

Series III Ten Timing Chain Gears:
Used. Look OK.

Series III Ten Crankshaft Pulley:
Used.

Series III Ten Flywheel:
Believed to be NOS.
Excellent condition with just a little surface rust.
Total diameter 11.75"
Clutch Surface diameter 9.5"
Total thickness 1"
93 teeth.

Series III Ten Starting Dog:
Used.

Series III Ten rocker box nuts:
Used. OK.

Series III Ten oil cap:
Used. Good condition. Also fits Series III 12/48.

Series III Ten Main Bearing Caps:
Used. Look in good condition. One front or centre cap and one rear cap.

Series III Timing Chain Cover:
Used.  Good condition, but greasy. Fits 12/48, 14/60, 16/65, 18/85.

Series III Oil Feed & Return pipes:
Used. 

Series III sump float / filter:
Used. Looks good.

Series III timing gear:
Used. Some wear on teeth

Series III 12/48 Tappet Chest Cover:
Used. Greasy.

Series III 12/48 Rocker Box Cover:
Used. Greasy.

Series III 12/48 Rocker Shaft:
Used. Slight wear marks.

Series III 12/48 Valves:
Used. 7 only.

Series III 12/48 set of 4 Con Rods:
NOS. Some surface rust. 3 in original boxes. Box label states Part No. CA373 R5 Undersize, but internal packaging has SA.1329 on it. Each Con Rod has MOWOG 13202 stamped on them.

Series III 12/48 Cylinder Heads:
Used.
First - complete with valves and springs, surface rust.
Second - bare head, surface rust.

Series III 14/60 block :
Used. Includes crankshaft plus 3 pistons. Unknown condition but looks OK. Bores have been greased to prevent rusting.
Plus another bare block - rusty & bored to 0.40 thou oversize.

Series III 14/60 head:
Used. Complete with end plates and valve assemblies in unknown condition but look OK. The head has been pressure tested and is good.
Plus another: Used. Complete , include rocker shaft assembly. Surface rust, unknown condition.

Series III 14/60 block & head:
Used. No fittings. Surface rust only. Head not attached to block. Unknown condition.

 

14/60 pistons, con rods, big ends:
Used. Some rings missing. Probably only suitable for the con rods?

Series conrodSeries III 14/60, 16/65 & 18/85 Con Rod:
NOS. Part No. SA1329. To fit:-
Series III 14/60 (commencing engine no. 20086)
Series III 16/65 and 18/85 (commencing engine no. 6016)
One only.

Series III Crankshafts:
Used. Surface rust. To fit 14/60, 16/65, 18/85.

Series III Flywheels:
Used. Surface Rust. To fit 14/60, 16/65, 18/85.
Note - the pitch diameter between the 6 holes and 2 studs, is different between the 14 and the 18. It is believed that these flywheels are most likely for a 16 /18, but please supply the above diameter measurement, so that we can check the spare ones out).

14/60 16/65 18/85 Camshaft Block and Followers:
Used. Full set.

14/60 16/65 18/85 Starting Dog:
Used. OK.

Series III timing chains:
NOS - continuous.
Used - Looks OK

Series III Sump:
Ued. To fit 14/60, 16/65, 18/85.

14/60 16/65 18/85 Rockerbox cover:
Used. Solid but has surface rust.

14/60 16/65 18/85 Water jacket lid - for parts or repair:
Used. Inner plate separated from outer cover. Both have surface rust but are solid. They need welding back together, ensuring the seam is waterproof.

Series III engine mountings - topAll Series III 6 cylinder Engine Rebound Rubbers:
Newly remanufactured. Note: 4 required per car, apart from 25DHC, which only uses 2 at the rear, (see below for front 25DHC mounts).

Series III 16/65 block and head:
Used. Surface rust only. Head not attached to block. Water bypass lid bolted to block and included in price, but rocker shaft shown NOT included in price.

Series III Supersix 21, 25, 25DHC Flywheel:
Used. OK but surface rust.

Series III 21, 25, 25DHC Rocker Box Cover:
Used. Size 28" x 5" x 4" high. Has 2 threaded holes next to the filler neck.

Series III 21/25hp Rocker Assembly:
Used. Complete with all rocker arms & springs, but one pedestal cracked. All rockers are free, but the assembly will need cleaning before use.

25dhc engine mountings - front 1 sideSeries III 25DHC Front Engine Mountings:
Newly remanufactured. These 2 parts constitute a single front mounting.

4/50 Valve springs:
NOS. Terry's - part no. 451.363. 2 complete sets + 3 springs. All in original boxes.

6-80 main bearings6/80 Main Bearings:
NOS. Part No. 162304. Front and Intermediary main bearings. (Need a little cleaning).

6/80 Cylinder Head:
Used. Untested, but looks OK. Exhaust studs will need replacement. Complete with water pump.

6/80 Camshaft:
Used. Looks OK.

6/80 Valves and assemblies:
Used. Incomplete set.

6/80 cylinder head bits:
Used. Unknown usage, but believed to be part of the head set up?

4/44 Engine Block:
Used. Several available, some including sump, crankshaft, conrods & pistons, clutch, water pump, oil pump. All in unknown condition, some siezed, some freely turning.

4/44 Crankshaft:
Used. Journals worn.

4/44 Tappet Chest Cover:
Used. Needs repainting

4/44 Rocker Cover:
Used. OK.

4/44 Cylinder Head:
Used. Includes thermostat housing, plugs and 3 pairs of valve assemblies. 1 manifold stud sheared off. Head will need skimming.

4/44 Rocker Shaft assembly:
Used. Several available. Some incomplete & requiring minor attention.

4/44 Push rods:
Used. Look OK.

4/44 Engine head studs:
Used. Look OK.

4/44 Camshaft:
Used. Some wear on lobes and bearing surfaces.

4/44 Camshaft bearings:
Used. Look OK, but unknown condition.

4/44 timing chain:
Used. Doesn't seem to be any wear in the links. Connecting link securing clip missing.

4/44 Crankshaft Pulley:
Used. Looks OK.

4-44-sump4/44 Sump:
Used. Complete with oil strainer. Also includes front engine plate.

4-44 std main bearings4/44 Con Rod Bearings:
NOS. Part No. X30009. Std. size. (Need a little cleaning).

Set 4/44 Cam Followers:
Used. Look OK.

4/44 oil cap:
Used. Good condition.

6/90 engine dipstick:
Used. Rusty top, but clean where goes into engine

'B' Series Sump gasket set:
NOS. Good condition.

'B' Series engine Oil pump & strainer:
Used. Pump turns freely, otherwise unknown condition.

1500 15/50 15/60 Head
Gasket Set:
NOS. Good condition.

1500 Engine:
Used. No 15WA-U-L 17738. Complete, apart from missing pushrods, valve assemblies and head nuts. Will require new top end gaskets. Includes clutch, water pump, distributor. Unknown condition, but turns freely.

1500 Cylinder Heads:
Used. One bare and one with valve assemblies. Both look OK.

Set of 4 x 1500 Con Rods & Big Ends, Gudgeon Pins & 2 Pistons:
Used. Con rods, big ends, (including shell bearings)and gudgeon pins. 2 pistons with dished tops, are included. One piston has all 3 compression rings and 1 oil scraper ring, whilst the other piston is missing its scraper ring. All look OK.

1500 Sump:
Used. Looks OK.

Set 1500 Big End bearings:
NOS. STD size.

Set 1500 Main bearings: 
NOS. STD size.

Set 1500 Piston Rings:
NOS. "Sealed Power". In original packaging and with original fitting instructions. STD size. 3 compression plus 1 oil scraper ring per piston.
Ring sizes:
Compression rings - 2.875 x 5/64
Oil Control Ring - 2.875 x 5/32.

Set of 1500, 15/50, 15/60, 16/60 B Series Push Rods:
Used. Look good. 8 3/4" long.

1500 15/50 15/60 Rocker Shaft Assembly:
Used. Complete and looks OK.

Set of 1500, 15/50, 15/60, 16/60 B Series Cam Followers:
Used. Look OK.

1500 Timing Gears:
Used. OK.

1500 Exhaust Valves:
NOS.
Valve stem seals also available.

Set of 1500, 15/50, 15/60, 16/60 B Series valve spring cups & collars:
Used. Look OK.

Early 1500, 15/50, 15/60 B Series Rocker Box Cover:
Used. Good condition. Complete with original labels labels and metal oil filler cap. (Fitted to pre 60(ish) B Series egines - later ones had plastic oil caps).

1500, 15/50, 15/60 B Series Camshaft:
Used. Looks OK but has some surface rust. Cam lobes look good. 4 cylinder. 46cm long. Will need to compare against your own to ensure correct model.

15/60 Engine:
Used. No 15AMW -U-H 10859. Complete engine, but requires new top end gaskets. Includes clutch, manifolds, water pump, distributor. Unknown condition, but turns freely.

Set Farina Big Ends:
NOS. Mowog Part No. 8G2080. 2 sets, one at 0010" oversize, one at 0020" oversize

Set Farina Main Bearings:
NOS. Mowog Part No. 8G2175. 0030" oversize

6/110 Cylinder Head:
Used. Good condition. Complete with valves and plugs.

Mini Hornet Cylinder Head:
Used. Good condition.

1100 Engine:
Used. Rusty exterior but complete with auto gearbox.

18/85 Landcrab Engine & Gearbox:
Used. Unknown condition, but complete with most ancillaries.

18/85 Head Gasket Set:
NOS. Good condition.
